Directions
From the north, via Hawkshead
Approaching from the North, via Hawkshead - from Hawkshead village centre, turn right at the T-junction signed Lakeside, Newby Bridge.
The road then bends sharp left round the playing field; after ¼ mile take the first right turn (after the Motorbody garage), for Grizedale Forest.
The road winds up a steep and narrow hill, and down the other side.
After some 2 ½ miles you will pass the Grizedale Visitor Centre. Continue for a further mile or so and you will reach Satterthwaite.
Pepper House is the second property on the left, above a grass paddock. Take the next lane on the left, just on the left-hand bend, to reach our drive. Please drive in through the gate and park in our car park.
From the South, via Newby Bridge
From the South (A590), continue past Newby Bridge and turn right at cross-roads a mile past Haverthwaite Station, signed Bouth.
After 200 yards, turn right at T-junction, signed for Grizedale Forest.
Continue to follow Grizedale (and occasional Satterthwaite) signs for about 8 miles.
On reaching Satterthwaite, pass the Eagle’s Head Pub on the left, Church on right, large converted barn on right (on a bend), then take the lane on the right, steeply uphill; you will see the Pepper House sign and drive entrance a little further up.
